On Tuesday, April 25, my wife and I visited a Disabled American Veterans meeting at the American Legion in Post Falls, Idaho. The objective was to invite the members to get involved in the Action Training Group, a shooting club that focuses on Church Safety training drills. We need volunteers to train new shooters, organize events as Range Safety Officers and build our group’s outreach to Church Safety Teams.
We already have discovered that veterans are the most committed and active members we have. It’s not exactly a secret that those who have served their country have a deep desire to contribute to their local community.
Our next Live-Fire Action Shoot is on Thursday, May 18 at 4:00 PM at Fernan Rod & Gun Club. Our monthly Membership Meeting will be the following week on Friday, May 26 at 5:30 PM at Cabela’s near Post Falls, Idaho. The meeting is open to the public and we invite anyone interested to contact us and/or just plan on attending.
You can also check out our activities and confirm dates and times at www.actiontraininggroup.org. We invite new shooters, those with advanced shooting skills and veterans with an interest in helping Church Safety Teams to come out and shoot with us. Lew Allert encouraged us to visit and we appreciate his support! We attend the History Club at JB’s Restaurant in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on Wednesday mornings & Lew is a regular there with about 30 or 40 other veterans who love to discuss history.
